My Brow Routine – Collab with Daisy Petals

DSC_1104

Very recently my eyebrows have become one of my most important and favourite pasts of my makeup routine., which I think is safe to say so has most other people. I’ve suddenly started paying much more attention to them. Personally , I go for a natural look, as not a big fan of big bold brows. This is a colab with the lovely Daisy Petals –  I love reading her new blog posts and look out for them. She’s a really lovely person, so I defiantly recommend checking her blog out. So here’s how I achieve my brows …

Back in October I got my eyebrows threaded, I know that seems like ages ago and everything has probably grown back, but that created guide lines and the perfect shape, so that I don’t over pluck. Since then, I’ve just been plucking out the strays with tweezers, trying to keep the shape. My eyebrows are naturally fairly dark so they don’t take much to look fake and like draw on sticks because of this I try to stick to products that match my hair colour and nothing to heavy. DSC_1111

  1. On days when I want high intensity bold brows I will use the Nyx ‘Proof It’ Waterproof Eyebrow Primer. Now this product is crucial, but you can really notice the difference once you start using it. With this product, my eyebrows stay on all day and don’t smudge, as I’ve found powder products cling to your brows more. So I simply wipe this on to my eyebrows and wait a few seconds for it to dry.
  2. Next, I outline underneath my brows using the pencil included in the Seventeen ‘ Brows That’ Kit. I really recommend this kit as it comes with everything you need :wax, pencil, powder, highlighter; all in a cute little palette. This is quite hard, but creates a really soft and subtle line, which is really easy to blend out with a spoolie.
  3.  As I used the primer earlier, I skip the wax, which I find creates thick and obvious look, which some people may like, personally I prefer a natural. Powder is really easy to be precise with and easy be built up to achieve the levels of boldness desired. Using an angled brush from Wilko, I apply the powder in small amounts, meaning I can slowly build up.
  4.  I also find my brows look drawn on after this, so I blend the product in, a staple part of this routine, using a basic spoolie. Doing this all the powder to be even distributed and any excess easily brushed out.  DSC_1097
  5. If your eyebrows are still unruly and have lots of strays, I suggest using a brow gel. These make sure that every single hair stays in place throughout the whole day. The Primark one served me well and has eventually run out, to replace it I purchased The Maybelline ‘Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara’ in Transparent. Unlike my old one my eyebrows don’t feel as hard and stuck together. This has a really unique brush shape – the only way to describe it is long and thin with a ball on the end- this allows you to arch your brows easily.

Colour Correcting Guide

Colour correcting is used to target specific areas and create a flawless base for your makeup, you should apply it before foundation and concealer. I don’t use it everyday, but as often as I can. It looks scary but using the right products it can be easy. For this I use the technic, Colour Fix Cream Corrector Palette, which comes with 8 different colours. This palette’s really good for beginners who are trialling colour correcting concealer as this palettes great value for money and includes all the colours you could need and more. The concealer is really creamy and blendable, whilst providing a high coverage base.dsc_0847

Here’s what each colour does:

  • Pink – to brighten
  • Lilac -to correct any yellow, shallow, tones and hide bruises
  • Green – to minimise redness
  • Peach – to neutralise blue tones
  • Rose – balance out any discolouration
  • Silver Shimmer – to highlight and brighten
  • Yellow – neutralise blue purple areas
  • Tan – to warm ash coloured skin tonesdsc_0846

How I use it: First I apply the green concealer on any spots or red areas I have. Next I mix number 4, Peach, and number 7, Yellow, together on my brush then blend it under my eyes. Then, I apply the lilac shade around my nose and on my chin. Finally I apply the highlighter under my brow, the inner corner of my eye and my cheek bone. I recommend applying the concealer with a brush and blending it in slightly with then finishing it off with your finger for a higher coverage

what I Love About Christmas Time and Surprise

In this post I’m going to be revealing, probably  an obvious, surprise, so stay till the end for that. Sorry if the photography for this post doesn’t look very Christmassy , most decorations come out of the fist of December. Anyway, Christmas is my favourite time of year, along with Autumn, so it’s only natural I want to share with you why I love it so much!dsc_0152

Christmas Lights – Every year, in the car me and my sister enjoying counting the number of Christmas lights we see on car journeys. Just to see a different display and beat the previous amount, we always end up taking a different way home.  As we see more have gone up, we know it’s getting closer to Christmas. Besides that, they’re just really pretty and magical to look at, and it gives us something fun to do in the car.dsc_0461

Christmas Tree – I love everything about having a Christmas tree: choosing it, decorating it and the smell. In our family we buy a real Christmas tree yearly and make an event out of buy it, which ends up taking us around half an hour! When we decorate our tree we don’t really have a colour theme, as we have lots of ornaments and fairy lights to put on it, so it looks a bit packed; but we like it that way! I love having a traditional real tree because whenever you walk in the room you can smell pine and woodlands. Once the trees gone the room always feels bare and boring!

Christmas music and films – I often find myself watching and listening these from the middle of November, which I personally think isn’t too early! 90% of the time my computers playing Michael Buble’s  Christmas album and a 4hr long video of a fireplace, playing behind me. For films I have a whole list, and have already watched Elf, Nativity 2, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Santa Paws. At this time of year, I love to snuggle up under a blanket, watching a film, whilst writing my Christmas list or a blog post.dsc_0464

Cinnamon– This my favourite smell during Autumn and winter, as it just screams this time of year. All the candles in my room smell of cinnamon or mixed spice at this time of year. I don’t know why, but I love it sooo much!

The count down – I love the count down to Christmas it’s just gets more and more exciting as you get closer to the day. This is helped by advent calendars giving you a little treat leading up to the day. Personally, I prefer the 24 days leading up to the days than the actual day, as its always over really quickly.

Surprise

For the second year running I’m going to be doing Blogmas !! As it was quite time consuming last year and I’m getting a lot more homework now, I will be doing it every few days. I’m so excited, most of the posts were drafted over the last few weeks. So look out for a second series of Blogmas 2016.

Summer Favourites – baking tutorial

I think it’s now officially safe to say that summer is officially over and we’re now into autumn, my favorite time of year (Darker makeup, Hot Chocolates and falling leaves; ugh!) These favorites are suitable for summer and early autumn, which is why I chose most of them.

These are fairly new releases, which I’ve been waiting so long for, and are hard to get your hands on depending on your area. It took me 3 different boots stores to find the shades I wanted. The shades I brought were, ‘Nude News’, a lighter pastel pink, perfect for everyday wear; and ‘The Coral Of The Story’, a bolder pink.
These lipsticks claim to be 13 hours, which I haven’t testing yet, however from the moment you put them on you can feel their stay power. These lipstick are really matte, so can be a little bit drying, nothing a bit of lip balm can’t solve. They’re creamy, meaning they glide on almost effortlessly. These have definitely become a new favorite of mine.
This palette contains 2 blushes, Antique blush and Pomegranate blush, and 4 eyeshadows, different shades from the Vintage Romance i-Divine palette. All the shades in this palette are deep blues and purples, perfect for a bold smokey eye. I love the pinker blush at this time of year, as it’s bold and shimmer whilst still looking natural. I think this is the perfect palette for anyone beginning to transition into a bolder, darker look, and doesn’t want to buy lots of separate palettes.
This stuff is AMAZING!! I find myself wearing it all the time. The formula is really lightweight and moisturizing, making it feel like you’re wearing nothing at all!It instantly sinks in to your skin and is just so easy to apply. Your skin has a beautiful natural glow; however it can look a bit greasy without powder over the top. The coverage is really light, perfect for this time of year, but is buildable with over products. Overall, the product doesn’t crease and is perfect for someone wanting little coverage.

Seventeen Stay Time Concealer  and Rimmel Transparent Powder
I’ve put these two products together, as it’s less of just the products I’ve been loving, it’s more of a technique. When to products I’ve recently been loving baking me concealer under my eyes. Using this, it instantly provides me with so much more coverage and just brightens. The concealer I use for Seventeen is really long lasting, 18 hrs, and blends out really nicely. I just take my concealer and put it in a triangle under my eyes and blend it out a bit.
The powder I’m using is really fine milled and controls and blocked pores. Then I take a thick layer of powder on to my beauty blender and just layer it up.  Next you just wait …, some people like to leave it for five minutes others twenty, depending on how much time you have. Finally you just brush away the powder, which can get a bit messy. Now your concealer looks poreless and stays matte all day.

Lush Teo Deodorant Bar
I’ve never send anyone else review this from Lush, but it deserves much more recognition. The product is really gentle on skin but still provides the absorbancy, of a roll or spray on. The citrus oils in it make it smell so powerful and refreshing, I can literally smell from the other side of the room right now! When you first use it looks like it’s going to crumble all over the floor, once the flowers on the top had fallen off, that was it. This is a must have for anyone looking for a really natural and gentle alternative.

Pandora Delicate Heart Ring
I’ve had this ring for a while now, and I just think it’s soooo cute. I love to wear and have found it goes with anything.
