Current Beauty Favourites

Sorry I missed another post, I’m a really bad at balancing school, life and blogging !! So to make up for it I’ve decided to share with some of my current beauty favourites, most of these things I’ve been lovin and using for a while, but I haven’t shared them with you guys. As end of exam season is coming up, I can’t promise frequent posting but I’ll try my hardest. DSC_2016DSC_2013DSC_2010

Collection Lasting Perfection

This my absolute favourite concealer, so much that I’m on my 3rd bottle. At the moment I have to mix the two lightest shades : fair 1 and cool medium 2, to find the perfect match. Sometimes I also find Fair 1 to be a bit pink toned on me but mixing them resolves this. I love the creamy, quite thick, formula of this product, which makes it so easy to blend. It just has really high coverage for a drugstore concealer and can cover any blemish and my really dark under eye circles. I know everyone has been raving about this concealer for a long time now, but it’s such good value for money. This concealer never goes cakey or change colour and go patchy through out the day.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Again you probably think I’m abit late to this craze aswell; but I’ve had this sponge for quite a while now, which proably explains why it’s so dirty ( gross, ik !). Personally, I like to use mine damp as it doubles in size and leaves you with a very airbrushed light look. The shape of the sponge means it’s really easy to reach every area and crevice on your face.  My sponge has lasted quite well and only has a few tears and staining. As they don’t last long it may seem abit expensive at the start, but they’re honestly worth every penny.

M.A.C Matte lipstick

I don’t really want to go in to too much detail, as I want to do another post about this. But, I brought mine in the classic shade Velvet Teddy, at around Christmas Time.  But the shade is just the perfect everyday nude !! The formula is really buttery and glides on super easy. If you’d like a more in death review stay tuned for a post coming soon …

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker

I have the mini ‘Rose and Shine’ which I got in a Christmas set. Normally, I’m not a big fan of lip-glosses : they’re usually sticky, uncomfortable and I usually reach for a matte lip. But this actually subtly plumps your lips, nothing overly noticeable. You can either use this before putting a lipstick or whatever, or alone as a lipgloss.

MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter

This is another frequently raved about product, I purchased mine in Iridescent Gold, which is perfect for sunny summer days. This highlighter is very glittery, so it creates a very shimmery glow effect. This product is only £2 or £3, but is totally good value for money. As it’s so lightweight it doesn’t cling to your skin, especially dry parts like mine.

Underrated Products

These are some of my favourite types of blog posts, as I always find some products that I haven’t seen before or tried out. I chose products that I use on a daily basis, but they haven’t been raved about or recognised in the blogging community. I would love to do this type of post on something like skincare or body care, so let me know if that’s something you’re interested in.

Seventeen’s Super Lash Mascara

This product was actually a freebie, which I got back in October when I spent, I think, £7 on Seventeen. When I first got this mascara, I was really disappointed : the whole wand was covered really thickly and all up the sides.  Sadly, at the time none of the mascaras had packing on to prevent people from using them, so you had to be wary. However after a few uses the wand began to thin out and become more workable, I realised this is an amazing mascara! It’s really lengthening, but isn’t thick at all, unlike Maybelline Lash Sensation another favourite of mine. Each lash with separately covered without sticking together. If you haven’t tried this, I really recommend checking it out!

Rimmel Clear Completion Clarifying Powder

This is my go to powder, I’ve used it every day none-stop for the past year and a half. Unlike other products, I haven’t really tried out a range of powders, as I almost instantly found one I love and stuck to it. This powder sets your makeup and stays on most of the day. Unlike, other powders this ones really light weight, so it doesn’t look cakey or clog your pores.

MUA Single Eyeshadows

Now these eyeshadows aren’t ground-breaking, but for £1 you really can’t go wrong. The eyeshadow is in the shade ‘Copper’ and has a nice glitter effect to it, perfect as an all over lid colour. For the price it’s nicely pigmented and has very little fallout, which is something that I often find with glitter eyeshadows. At the moment, I only have one shade but I would love to pick up some more, as they’re really good value.

Seventeens Stay Time Concealer

These concealers quite a large shade range, for a drugstore brand, so I picked up the lightest ‘Extra Fair’.  The description and formula of the product is very similar to the Collection Lasting Perfection, both claim to last 18 hours. Compared to Collection, this concealer is a lot of a thinner consistency to apply, however once blended it begins to thicken up. This concealer is very high coverage and looks completely natural.

After Christmas Haul

After Christmas one of the positive things is the Christmas Sales, where shops sell of all their Christmas stock. In places like Boots and Lush, you can pick up some things for half price only a few days after Christmas. Here are some of the things I’ve picked up in the sale or just brought with Christmas money and love already.dsc_0792

Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel – This smells just like Turkish delight, which I love. It also has argon oil in it which makes it really moisturising on your skin. It lathers really easily and leaves your skin smelling really good for a couple of hours.

Lush Sugar Plum Fairy Lip scrub – I’ve always though Lush lip scrubs were a little on the pricy side for what they are and couldn’t wait to try one at half the price. One thing about the product is it’s filled right to the top of the pot so you get your moneys worth. It smells lovely and sweet, a bit like the comforter, and is great for anyone with dry lips. I love to use this before I put on a liquid lipstick, so it applies smoothly.

Boots Essentials Cucumber Eye Gel – This is a new skin care essential for me as it works so well. It absorbs into your skin really quickly and doesn’t take long to moisturise and hydrate your under eye area. After a few days of using this my eye area already seems less puffy and much brighter. dsc_0793

Clean and Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion – I’ve only used this product twice, so I can’t really review it properly yet. So far this has felt really nice on my skin and has absorbed any excess oil without being too drying on my skin. I can’t wait to keep using this product and see if it continues to impress me.

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara – This is in the shade transparent as I prefer to use pencil and powder to shape my brows. However, this great for setting your brows after that. The brush has a round bit at the end of it, which I’ve found really useful to get all the hairs covered.dsc_0796

Nyx Lip Lingerie Lace Detail 03 – I finally decided to this a try after wanting it for ages, the shade I picked up is a really nice pinkie nude for everyday. However, the first couple of times I’ve used it it’s felt quite thick on my lips and is really drying. This hasn’t stopped me wearing this though as it’s such a nice colour.dsc_0797

Advent Calendar Top Picks

It’s now the 15th of December and I’m more than half way through my advent calendar. This year I treated myself to the Kiss Advent Calendar, which cost £5 in Wilko. When I brought it I wasn’t too sure of the quality of the products, due to it being so cheap; but I’ve been pleasantly surprised so far. Inside there are 24 different beauty products, from makeup to nail polishes. I want to share with you my favourites so far!dsc_0540 Eye Shadow Quad (My Eye Shadow) – This palette contains some quite unusual colours compare to most of my nude palettes. A pink blush shade, a dark beige, a burnt gold shade and a dusty pink shade; all shimmery. They’re very pigmented, blend quite softly, and none of the shimmer transfers. I’m quite excited to work these into my usual go-to look for Christmas.dsc_0541Bronzer (Cover Version) – In the pan this bronzer looks fairly dark, however once swatched it’s much lighter. One thing I would say  is it’s quite orangey on pale skin, but looks alright on most, like mine. The product doesn’t contain a lot of glitter and isn’t shimmery, which I really like.

Blush (Oi Cheeky) – This is a really light matte blush, perfect for everyday natural makeup looks. It isn’t overly pigmented but could be buildable. This stand out from most of my other blushes because it is completely matte and provides a natural blush.dsc_0542Face and Body glitter (glitter and sparkle) – I don’t actually own any body glitter and think it will fun to experiment and create different looks with. The glitters silver and in the shape of a star.

Nail Polish(My Nail Polish) – I believe there are 4 nail polishes in the calendar, so far I’ve only got 2: one baby pastel pink and one sliver glitter topcoat. In a shop, I would choose shades like this. The top coat very similar to a few other I own, but just contains a bit more glitter, and the pink one is a welcome new addition to my collection. The formula of these nail polishes is quite watery, which isn’t much of a problem, and dries fairly quickly.

Makeup Pencil Sharpener – I don’t really have to say about this, about from the fact that I’ve needed one of these for a while now and it does the job!

Stocking Fillers Guide – Under £10

dsc_0538It can sometimes be hard finding good quality gifts for people under £10. So for this weeks blogmas post I thought I’d share with you some of the things I’ve been loving recently, which could give ideas to buy for other people. As I said all of these gifts are under £10 and would make great stocking fillers or secret Santa gifts.dsc_0525

Rimmel – Wake Me Up Concealer £5.49

I only recently brought this concealer as my Seventeen one was running out and fancied trying something different. This product turned out to be really creamy and provides good coverage. I use this under my eyes everyday, as it’s so brightening and blends out really quick and easily. However, this concealer is definitely more for brightening under eyes than concealing blemishes, due to its coverage. The product contains vitamin E, so when you take it off at the end of the day your skin feels so smooth.

Real Techniques – Expert Face Brush £8.99

This brush literally can be used to apply any face product! When I first brought this brush I didn’t own many face brushes and wanted a multi-purpose brush to make up for it. This brush works with liquid and cream products as well, which is amazing!  The bristles are really dense, which I like to apply liquid products with and so far there’s been absolutely no fall out. This product is very good for someone who is just getting into makeup and doesn’t own much or someone who would like a more airbrushed finish.

The Body Shop – Pink Grapefruit Body Sorbet £8.00

Compared to their other body lotions, I don’t believe this one is as well known. However, I actually prefer this to their body lotions. This one’s very light weight and doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky or thick after applying it. Once on, it absorbs really quickly and smells so good. Due to the Body Shops wide range of scents, this gift is perfect for anyone.

Lush -The Comforter Shower Cream £4.95/100g

This is one of my favourite lush smells : sweet and fruity, like blackcurrant. This shower cream lathers really easily and makes your skin also super soft when you get out. Almost like I don’t need to moisturise. I also love the colour of the gel as it’s so cute. Anyone who loves sweet fruity scents, would love this as a gift.

Ice Style World – IPhone Camera Lenses Kit £5.99

The lovely people at Ice Style World sent me this to review, but this is my own opinion on the product. I personally believe this fit any phone as it just clips on top of the camera. The kit comes with a macro, a wide angle and a fisheye lens plus a handy velvet carry pouch to keep them all safe. This kit is perfect for anyone who wants something similar to DSLR, without the high cost.dsc_0537

what I Love About Christmas Time and Surprise

In this post I’m going to be revealing, probably  an obvious, surprise, so stay till the end for that. Sorry if the photography for this post doesn’t look very Christmassy , most decorations come out of the fist of December. Anyway, Christmas is my favourite time of year, along with Autumn, so it’s only natural I want to share with you why I love it so much!dsc_0152

Christmas Lights – Every year, in the car me and my sister enjoying counting the number of Christmas lights we see on car journeys. Just to see a different display and beat the previous amount, we always end up taking a different way home.  As we see more have gone up, we know it’s getting closer to Christmas. Besides that, they’re just really pretty and magical to look at, and it gives us something fun to do in the car.dsc_0461

Christmas Tree – I love everything about having a Christmas tree: choosing it, decorating it and the smell. In our family we buy a real Christmas tree yearly and make an event out of buy it, which ends up taking us around half an hour! When we decorate our tree we don’t really have a colour theme, as we have lots of ornaments and fairy lights to put on it, so it looks a bit packed; but we like it that way! I love having a traditional real tree because whenever you walk in the room you can smell pine and woodlands. Once the trees gone the room always feels bare and boring!

Christmas music and films – I often find myself watching and listening these from the middle of November, which I personally think isn’t too early! 90% of the time my computers playing Michael Buble’s  Christmas album and a 4hr long video of a fireplace, playing behind me. For films I have a whole list, and have already watched Elf, Nativity 2, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Santa Paws. At this time of year, I love to snuggle up under a blanket, watching a film, whilst writing my Christmas list or a blog post.dsc_0464

Cinnamon– This my favourite smell during Autumn and winter, as it just screams this time of year. All the candles in my room smell of cinnamon or mixed spice at this time of year. I don’t know why, but I love it sooo much!

The count down – I love the count down to Christmas it’s just gets more and more exciting as you get closer to the day. This is helped by advent calendars giving you a little treat leading up to the day. Personally, I prefer the 24 days leading up to the days than the actual day, as its always over really quickly.

Surprise

For the second year running I’m going to be doing Blogmas !! As it was quite time consuming last year and I’m getting a lot more homework now, I will be doing it every few days. I’m so excited, most of the posts were drafted over the last few weeks. So look out for a second series of Blogmas 2016.

Autumn Tag 2016

I’ve seen loads of bloggers doing this, and thought it look fun. It’s the perfect chance to tell you more about my favourite season: Autumn. I tag anyone who wants to do it,  I wasn’t tagged directly to do this post.

Favourite Thing?

There’s so much to love: the clothing, the colours, the temperature; but for me I think it’s the photo opportunities. During this time of year I feel really inspired to take photos and blog about what’s going on, so expect a lot more from me. It doesn’t help knowing Christmas is just around the corner, eeek!!!

Desired hot drink

The clique thing to say here is a PSL, Pumpkin spiced latte, but I’m going to tell the truth is that I’ve never tried one. Instead, I much prefer a hot chocolate any day.  They’re just so good, topped with whipped cream and marshmallows, mmmm!

Seasonal scent/candle

My favourite scent by far, is mixed spice and cinnamon, which to me screams autumn. With that in mind, I love the cinnamon stick Yankee Candle and Christmas memories Yankee Candle, they’re just warm and comforting smells.

Favourite Lipstick

Does it count that I have 2 completely different shades: a deeper plump colour and a brighter scarlet colour. The first ones, Rimmel’s Kate Moss Lasting Finish, this is such a gorgeous shade that doesn’t wash you out. I’ve found myself wearing it loads. My other choice is Seventeen’s Mega Matte Lipsticks, in the shade Lava A lot, it so different to the shades I’d normally wear. Find links to my reviews on those products, here and here.

Eye look and colour

At this time of year I love a burgundy matte lid with a shimmery crease. Using my favourite pallete of all time, Seventeen’s Easy On The Eye, I take the colour 9 Bronzed Buff all over my lid. Then blend 8 Baked Chestnut into the outer V and put some shimmer, 1 Gentle Pink, into the crease.

Go to outfit

My most recent purchase was a bomber jacket. As you might of guessed, I love wearing it over a black pinafore and Superstars. It’s so comfy and is really versatile.

Autumn Activity
As I mentioned before, going for walks out and taking my camera, it’s just one of my favourite things to do. As I mentioned before Autumn is in my opinion the most photogenic season. Even though, I’ve been finding it hard to make time for this recently.

Summer Favourites – baking tutorial

I think it’s now officially safe to say that summer is officially over and we’re now into autumn, my favorite time of year (Darker makeup, Hot Chocolates and falling leaves; ugh!) These favorites are suitable for summer and early autumn, which is why I chose most of them.

These are fairly new releases, which I’ve been waiting so long for, and are hard to get your hands on depending on your area. It took me 3 different boots stores to find the shades I wanted. The shades I brought were, ‘Nude News’, a lighter pastel pink, perfect for everyday wear; and ‘The Coral Of The Story’, a bolder pink.
These lipsticks claim to be 13 hours, which I haven’t testing yet, however from the moment you put them on you can feel their stay power. These lipstick are really matte, so can be a little bit drying, nothing a bit of lip balm can’t solve. They’re creamy, meaning they glide on almost effortlessly. These have definitely become a new favorite of mine.
This palette contains 2 blushes, Antique blush and Pomegranate blush, and 4 eyeshadows, different shades from the Vintage Romance i-Divine palette. All the shades in this palette are deep blues and purples, perfect for a bold smokey eye. I love the pinker blush at this time of year, as it’s bold and shimmer whilst still looking natural. I think this is the perfect palette for anyone beginning to transition into a bolder, darker look, and doesn’t want to buy lots of separate palettes.
This stuff is AMAZING!! I find myself wearing it all the time. The formula is really lightweight and moisturizing, making it feel like you’re wearing nothing at all!It instantly sinks in to your skin and is just so easy to apply. Your skin has a beautiful natural glow; however it can look a bit greasy without powder over the top. The coverage is really light, perfect for this time of year, but is buildable with over products. Overall, the product doesn’t crease and is perfect for someone wanting little coverage.

Seventeen Stay Time Concealer  and Rimmel Transparent Powder
I’ve put these two products together, as it’s less of just the products I’ve been loving, it’s more of a technique. When to products I’ve recently been loving baking me concealer under my eyes. Using this, it instantly provides me with so much more coverage and just brightens. The concealer I use for Seventeen is really long lasting, 18 hrs, and blends out really nicely. I just take my concealer and put it in a triangle under my eyes and blend it out a bit.
The powder I’m using is really fine milled and controls and blocked pores. Then I take a thick layer of powder on to my beauty blender and just layer it up.  Next you just wait …, some people like to leave it for five minutes others twenty, depending on how much time you have. Finally you just brush away the powder, which can get a bit messy. Now your concealer looks poreless and stays matte all day.

Lush Teo Deodorant Bar
I’ve never send anyone else review this from Lush, but it deserves much more recognition. The product is really gentle on skin but still provides the absorbancy, of a roll or spray on. The citrus oils in it make it smell so powerful and refreshing, I can literally smell from the other side of the room right now! When you first use it looks like it’s going to crumble all over the floor, once the flowers on the top had fallen off, that was it. This is a must have for anyone looking for a really natural and gentle alternative.

Pandora Delicate Heart Ring
I’ve had this ring for a while now, and I just think it’s soooo cute. I love to wear and have found it goes with anything.

Testing Benefit minis

Being a student, I don’t want to spend lots of money on a variety of high end products, when they stock minis. Not owning many high end products, I wasn’t sure if they were worth the splurge and decided to buy the minis. I mean the minis are much cuter in my opinion and are great if you want to test out a product.

Boi-ing and Eye Bright

Both of these came in the same pallete and cost the same as the other items (I love a 2 for 1).  First, Boi-ing is my new favourite under eye concealer due to its amazing coverage, unlike any product I’d tried before. This product blends out flawlessly due to its really creamy consistency and doesn’t crease or wear  away.

When I first used eye bright, I was a bit confused with its purpose, as it was unlike anything I’ve ever used before. After I realised it was to be used as a eye highlighter on the inner corners, rather than all over (what was I thinking!) I actually quite like the product. This instantly makes you look wide awake, making people believe you’ve had your full 9 hours of sleep; when you’ve really only had 5 or 6.

Posietint

First of all, the colour and pigmentation of this product is amazing! It blends really nicely, leaving you with a beautiful rosy pink shade. However, you have to blend it quickly before it dries. What drew me to this product was the packaging as I think it’s so cute.

BADgal Lash

This product was a disappointment, compared to the 3 products. The brush looked really promising when I first opened the product : full and volumining. Once applied the product made my lashes look very natural, not the full, volume stated. Throughout the day, this mascara began to flake under my eyes.

Highbeam

Out of all the products, this is by far my favourite. It’s just such a natural shine, proving a beautiful dusty pink illumination. It blend really nicely and is perfect for any makeup look. This product is my new holy grail! I’m looking into buying the full sized of this product.

.

Feeling Blue…?

Blue the colour of the sky and ocean. As my cleverly named title suggests, I’m going to be sharing with you some of my favourite products, in the colour blue.

 1. Pure Devotion Eau De Parfum

I got this perfume for Christmas, however you can buy it in New Look. It’s a refreshing and sweet floral scent, making it a comfortable everyday scent. It’s smells strongly of pink peony, lychee and lily of the valley with undertones of cedar wood and honey (I got all this from the packaging, I’m not that good at recognising scents). I wear this perfume almost everyday as it’s comfortable chic scent that last for hours.

 2. Nivea Hydro Care

I reach for this lip balm when ever my lips feel rough and dry and it instantly moisturises them again. It’s light to put on, so it isn’t greasy or thick. After using it my lips feel really soft and moisturised, ready for lip gloss/stick. It comes out clear and doesn’t taste nasty. Especially in the summer I like to use it as it has SPF 15, which means it protects your lips from the sun.

 3. Whoosh Shower Jelly

As all over Lush products, this smells AMAZING!! I love the blend of citrus fruits, which make it smell really powerful. This a great thing to use in your morning shower because it wakes you up, leaving you feeling clean and fresh. It contains seaweed, fresh citrus juices, rosemary and geranium oils which all do wonders for your skin.
