How I restyled my old jeggings

DSC_2026

DSC_2021DSC_2033  I’ve had these jeggings for a least 2 years now, but hadn’t worn them in ages as they became too small and not my style. However only recently I decided to experiment and try to switch them up, as they were just sitting in my wardrobe taking up space. But I actually really like the colour of these jeans so wanted to try and recycle them. I decided to share this with you to try and inspire you to try this out if you have some old jeans and give you some tips.

Before the bottom of the jeans rested just a bit above my ancle which I didn’t like. So I just triple folded the hem over so that the lighter part of jean is on show and they’re much shorter, now it’s around one inch. Personally, I much prefer it this way, however you can change it any way you want.

Another thing I wanted to try ripping them across the knee. After watching multiple videos on YouTube and reading blog posts, I figured out the easiest way. All I took was a some sand paper, or a nail file in my case, chalk and a tweezers. If you’re a bit wary, I suggest just doing this to a small part of jeans and gradually building it up.

1.whilst wearing the jeans, I used the chalk to mark out a line where I want the slit to be. For me this was a bit above the knee. The chalk will easy brush off and won’t damage the jeans.

2.Then, after I’d taken the jeans off, I used the emery board to work away at the denim. I used the file to gently buff across the jean, then in small circles. This took quite awhile, as I was using a nail file. Another tip is that this was very messy and caused lots of balls of denim to go fly off so I recommend being careful.

3.Just before you break all the way through the jeans, you can just see the light through them, put them back on. This will allow you to make a more natural slit. For me, just by bending my leg, my knee broke through the bit I’d work away at before.

4. If you want the outer part the be more frayed, simply pull out a few threads using the tweezers. Similarly to get to get threads going across pull threads out underneath. What I love about this is it’s so simple and can be done to any pair of jeans and honestly couldn’t tell the difference between the DIY and a shop brought pair. If you wish you can rip anywhere the jeans anywhere. DSC_2022

How I style my Mom Jeans

I believe the last outfit post I did was back in the summer holidays and I recently discovered a new clothing item I love ! I’ve never really been a big fan of jeans, as most of the stuff I wear is for comfort. Most jeans I’ve tried before have been tight and uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. Don’t get me wrong, I have other styles of jeans I love, but at the moment these are by far my favourite.

These Jeans are ‘Moms’ from New Look, I chose these as they’re ripped on the thigh area which I love. They’re really comfortable and feel nice to wear, however I have to be careful wearing them as they’re being to break on the bottom of the ripped part due to my knee pushing against it, which is annoying.

For a while now I’ve been looking for the perfect long top to tuck in at the front of my jeans, as most of mine are cropped. The one I’m wearing in the picture is from H and M and it’s perfect !! It’s the perfect length to tuck in and suits the jeans. I also wear the with a black leather belt, to keep them up, my black bomber jacket, New Look, and Pink Kanken.dsc_1072dsc_1066

Stocking Fillers Guide – Under £10

dsc_0538It can sometimes be hard finding good quality gifts for people under £10. So for this weeks blogmas post I thought I’d share with you some of the things I’ve been loving recently, which could give ideas to buy for other people. As I said all of these gifts are under £10 and would make great stocking fillers or secret Santa gifts.dsc_0525

Rimmel – Wake Me Up Concealer £5.49

I only recently brought this concealer as my Seventeen one was running out and fancied trying something different. This product turned out to be really creamy and provides good coverage. I use this under my eyes everyday, as it’s so brightening and blends out really quick and easily. However, this concealer is definitely more for brightening under eyes than concealing blemishes, due to its coverage. The product contains vitamin E, so when you take it off at the end of the day your skin feels so smooth.

Real Techniques – Expert Face Brush £8.99

This brush literally can be used to apply any face product! When I first brought this brush I didn’t own many face brushes and wanted a multi-purpose brush to make up for it. This brush works with liquid and cream products as well, which is amazing!  The bristles are really dense, which I like to apply liquid products with and so far there’s been absolutely no fall out. This product is very good for someone who is just getting into makeup and doesn’t own much or someone who would like a more airbrushed finish.

The Body Shop – Pink Grapefruit Body Sorbet £8.00

Compared to their other body lotions, I don’t believe this one is as well known. However, I actually prefer this to their body lotions. This one’s very light weight and doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky or thick after applying it. Once on, it absorbs really quickly and smells so good. Due to the Body Shops wide range of scents, this gift is perfect for anyone.

Lush -The Comforter Shower Cream £4.95/100g

This is one of my favourite lush smells : sweet and fruity, like blackcurrant. This shower cream lathers really easily and makes your skin also super soft when you get out. Almost like I don’t need to moisturise. I also love the colour of the gel as it’s so cute. Anyone who loves sweet fruity scents, would love this as a gift.

Ice Style World – IPhone Camera Lenses Kit £5.99

The lovely people at Ice Style World sent me this to review, but this is my own opinion on the product. I personally believe this fit any phone as it just clips on top of the camera. The kit comes with a macro, a wide angle and a fisheye lens plus a handy velvet carry pouch to keep them all safe. This kit is perfect for anyone who wants something similar to DSLR, without the high cost.dsc_0537

Autumn Tag 2016

I’ve seen loads of bloggers doing this, and thought it look fun. It’s the perfect chance to tell you more about my favourite season: Autumn. I tag anyone who wants to do it,  I wasn’t tagged directly to do this post.

Favourite Thing?

There’s so much to love: the clothing, the colours, the temperature; but for me I think it’s the photo opportunities. During this time of year I feel really inspired to take photos and blog about what’s going on, so expect a lot more from me. It doesn’t help knowing Christmas is just around the corner, eeek!!!

Desired hot drink

The clique thing to say here is a PSL, Pumpkin spiced latte, but I’m going to tell the truth is that I’ve never tried one. Instead, I much prefer a hot chocolate any day.  They’re just so good, topped with whipped cream and marshmallows, mmmm!

Seasonal scent/candle

My favourite scent by far, is mixed spice and cinnamon, which to me screams autumn. With that in mind, I love the cinnamon stick Yankee Candle and Christmas memories Yankee Candle, they’re just warm and comforting smells.

Favourite Lipstick

Does it count that I have 2 completely different shades: a deeper plump colour and a brighter scarlet colour. The first ones, Rimmel’s Kate Moss Lasting Finish, this is such a gorgeous shade that doesn’t wash you out. I’ve found myself wearing it loads. My other choice is Seventeen’s Mega Matte Lipsticks, in the shade Lava A lot, it so different to the shades I’d normally wear. Find links to my reviews on those products, here and here.

Eye look and colour

At this time of year I love a burgundy matte lid with a shimmery crease. Using my favourite pallete of all time, Seventeen’s Easy On The Eye, I take the colour 9 Bronzed Buff all over my lid. Then blend 8 Baked Chestnut into the outer V and put some shimmer, 1 Gentle Pink, into the crease.

Go to outfit

My most recent purchase was a bomber jacket. As you might of guessed, I love wearing it over a black pinafore and Superstars. It’s so comfy and is really versatile.

Autumn Activity
As I mentioned before, going for walks out and taking my camera, it’s just one of my favourite things to do. As I mentioned before Autumn is in my opinion the most photogenic season. Even though, I’ve been finding it hard to make time for this recently.

Outfit Inspo

This is a new type of post for me as I haven’t done anything like this before, so let me know what you think. Anyway, both piece of this outfit come from new look. This pinafore is really one of my favourite outfits;  depending on the top I wear underneath, I can wear it for casual or smart.
I’m going to start more frequently posting on here so make sure to check it out.
